Aortoiliac occlusive disease is gradual obstruction of the terminal portion of the aorta by atherosclerosis; associated clinical features include intermittent claudication of the lower back, buttocks, thighs, or calves, and atrophy of the limbs; there may also be trophic changes and impotence.
