What is bond?

Bond is in chemistry, any of several forces holding atoms or ions together in a molecule.
covalent b. A bond resulting from the sharing of one, two, or three pairs of electrons
by neighboring atoms.
electrovalent b. See ionic bond.
ionic b. A bond formed by the transfer of one or more electrons from one kind of atom
to another; characteristic of salts.
peptide b. A covalent bond linking two amino acids, formed when the carboxyl group
of one is linked to the amino group of the other.
