What is chromatin?

Chromatin is the association of DNA and proteins in the cell nucleus, comprising the chromosomes and staining readily with basic dyes.

it represents a single, condensed, and inactive X chromosome. Its presence or absence in cells obtained from a smear of the inside of the cheek has been used to determine a person’s sexual genotype.
