What is eminence?

Eminence is a circumscribed, elevated area or prominence, especially of a bone.
frontal e. The rounded elevation on the skull on either side just above the eye.
hypothenar e. The prominence on the ulnar side of the palm produced by the short muscles of the little finger; one of three muscle divisions of the hand.
parietal e. The prominence on either side of the skull just above the superior temporal
line.
thenar e. The elevation on the radial side of the palm of the hand
produced by the short muscles of the thumb; one of three muscle divisions of the hand.
