Epinephrine are:

  • - 1. Hormone produced by the of the adrenal gland; it stimulates the sympathetic nervous system

A crystalline compound, C H NO, extracted from the adrenal glands of some mammals or produced synthetically; it produces cardiac stimulation, constriction or dilatation of blood vessels, and bronchial relaxation; used as a heart stimulant and in the treatment of bronchial asthma and acute allergic disorders, and as a local vasoconstrictor.
