What is fasciculus?

Fasciculus is a small bundle of muscle or nerve fibers.
inferior longitudinal f. A bundle of association fibers running through the occipital
and temporal lobes of the cerebrum.
medial longitudinal f. A bundle of fibers running under the fourth ventricle from the midbrain to the spinal cord.
proper fasciculi Ascending and descending association fibers surrounding the gray
columns of the spinal cord.
